Lessons built around how you shoot

Ben Courtemarche has spent over 10,000 hours coaching shooters of every skill level. Find the path that matches where you are right now.

01

Beginner Shooter

Never fired a shotgun — or any gun — before.

Ben starts at the very beginning: safe handling, how the gun works, gun fit, stance, mount, and eye dominance. You'll learn to read a target and break your first clays in a controlled, unhurried setting where questions are expected.

What we work on

  • Range and firearm safety
  • Gun fit, stance and balance
  • Consistent gun mount
  • Eye dominance testing
  • Reading target line and speed
  • Etiquette on the course
02

Recreational Shooter

You already enjoy the game but certain targets keep beating you.

You know how much fun shotgun sports can be, but there are presentations you dread. Ben identifies the habits holding your scores back and rebuilds the fundamentals underneath them so difficult targets stop feeling like guesswork.

What we work on

  • Breaking bad habits picked up over years
  • Hold point and break point
  • Crossers, quartering and rabbit targets
  • Report pairs and true pairs
  • Choke and load selection
  • Practice routines that actually transfer
03

Competitive Shooter

You're chasing class advancement and podium finishes.

Sporting Clays, Skeet, Trap and FITASC fields are deeper than ever. Ben — a former All American in sporting clays with 200+ recorded wins — works on the strategy and mental game that separates a good round from a winning one.

What we work on

  • Station strategy and shot planning
  • Course reading and target ID
  • Managing pressure and pace
  • Registered tournament preparation
  • Class advancement plans
  • Equipment and gun fit refinement

Games Ben teaches

  • Sporting Clays

Golf with a shotgun. Endless target presentations across a walking course — the deepest and most varied of the clay games.

  • Skeet Shooting

Fixed, repeatable target pairs from eight stations. The best discipline for grooving a consistent mount and swing.

  • Trap Shooting

Going-away targets from a single house. Precision, rhythm and pre-shot routine under the microscope.

  • Bird Hunting

Field preparation for upland and waterfowl — snap shooting, footwork on uneven ground and honest range judgment.
